Site Council Sponsors Speaker

On April 15th the McLouth Secondary Site Council will present a speaker at 7:00 PM in the McLouth High School Auditorium. Lisa Ellis, LMSW, a social worker from Stormont-Vail in Topeka will address the issue of bullying and harassment. She will discuss definitions, characteristics, and myths regarding bullying as well as strategies to cope with those that bully and harass. She addresses the roles of the bully, victim and bystander as well as the role of educators and parents. The topic of cyber bullying will also be addressed. This presentation is offered free of charge to students, parents, teachers, and community members. This presentation is in response to Kansas House Bill 2310 enacted to address the issue of bullying in public schools.
