Fast Facts

The district is comprised of three schools located in one campus building.

The average classroom size is 17.6 students (secondary) and 15.2 students (elementary).

The district employs 45 certified teachers, 4 administrators and over 40 support staff.

McLouth is a rural school district located in northeast Kansas. The community is 20 miles north of Lawrence, Kansas.

District information

The McLouth school district is located Jefferson County, in Northeast Kansas. USD 342 services the McLouth community and the rural surrounding area. It includes a private lake community of Lake Dabinawa.

The district has a student population of 529 in grades Pre-K through 12. The district is a part of the Northeast Kansas Educational Service Center (NEKESC), John Dewey Learning Academy, and Kaw Area Technical School.

McLouth Elementary has an enrollment of 243 students and has a staff of 16 regular classroom teachers, plus support staff.

High School

McLouth Secondary Schools consist of 6-8 Middle School and 9-12 High School. There are 286 students with two administrators and 26 certified staff members.  The High School provides over 100 course offerings through classroom and online environments operating on a modified block schedule.  The Middle School courses are offered on a seven period schedule with over 50 course offerings.

McLouth High School offers many dual credit courses with Kansas community colleges.

 

McLouth USD 342 offers a PreK-12 environment all in one facility location providing the ability for resources and goals to be a continuous feature utilized throughout all grade levels.
