PTO 2010-2011 Introduction

Tammy Van Dyne

August 17, 2010

Hello! I am hoping you had a great summer off! This is Tammy Van Dyne and I am the new PTO President for this school year.

I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself.  I have lived in McLouth since 1980 and began my career here in the 2nd semester of 3rd grade.  I was in Mrs. Fleming's class and this was back when sixth grade was still in elementary school. I remember the old high school building and the destruction of it.  I was a junior when the Football field was erected. I graduated in 1989 with a National Honor Society rope and my purple gown. Why am I taking you down this trip to memory lane?

I wanted you to see how dedicated I am to this school. It is more than a building to me, it was the best years of my life. I currently work for Keystone Learning Services under Beth Steinkamp in the Elementary school. This is my 5th year here as a Para Professional. Through the years, many changes have occurred at the school. Sixth grade is a part of middle school now, Miss Ritter is now Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Fleming is now Mrs. Feurborn, and Miss Molitor is now Mrs. Walbridge! Just as they have dedicated themselves to this school district and invested time and effort into making a difference, I too am willing to step up and make a difference.

The McLouth PTO has been strong and dedicated to helping with fundraisers, teacher dinners and appreciation snacks, helping fund parties and the Bulldog Reading store, Teacher wish lists, and much more. This year I would like to see some changes made and I would like to invite each of you to our first meeting on Thursday, August 19th at 7pm in the Home Economics room.

The PTO meetings are on the

2nd Thursday of every month.

Generally I have heard that PTO has been based on K-8th grade. I want to change that right now. We are a VIP through 12 grade school. One building united by hallways in a small country town. I would like to see us grow stronger and more unified by your support as well.  We are a Parent Teacher Organization and with your help we can make a difference.

Together Everyone can Achieve More- T E A M

Thank you,
Tammy Van Dyne
