IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE 2011-12 SCHOOL YEAR

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has added additional requirements.
All students in grades 7 thru 9 (currently students in grades 6 thru 8) will be required to have a Tdap booster. This is regardless of the interval of time since the last dose of DTaP or Td.
All students in 7th grade (current 6th graders) will be required to have 2 doses of Varicella vaccine or doctor documented proof of illness. The Jefferson County Health Department currently has a supply of Varicella vaccine available until June 30th 2011 at no cost to anyone under the age of 19.
Parents are encouraged to take their students in to get vaccinated, particularly with the Varicella vaccine while it is available at the Jefferson County Health Department at no cost.
