The ACT is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in: English. Mathematics. Reading. Science. It is an achievement test, measuring what a student has learned. Many colleges and universities require the ACT or comparable test for admission and placement.

It is generally recommended to begin taking the ACT during the spring of your junior year if you plan to go to college. Some students and parents may wish to start earlier, but since it is an achievement test, the more curriculum to which a student is exposed should impact his/her score.

Go to www.actstudent.org to register.

McLouth High School's ACT code is 171-955. You will need this number to register for the ACT.
