Math Class Syllabus

While the wording of rules may vary from class to class, most teachers’ rules are very similar.  Here are my rules and their consequences:

1)      I expect you to be in your seat ready to listen for instructions when the class bell rings.

2)      Fun at the expense of other persons’ feelings is not tolerated.

3)      Any interference with the learning process will not be acceptable.

Step 1: Gentle reminder.

Step 2: Verbal warning.

Step 3: Detention with teacher after school.

Step 4: Removal from class for the day and office referral.

Attention athletes:  Starting with Step 3, coaches will be notified of all incidents!

 

Tardies will be handled as follows:

1st        Warning

2nd        Detention with teacher after school

3rd        Office referral

 

Grading procedure:

Daily work:  10 points possible for each assignment, based on accuracy.  All problems must be completed.  Partial or incomplete assignments will not be graded. Credit in this class at all times will only be give if all related work is shown even if you can do the work in your head.

5 pointsdaily for getting to class with the following:

1)      Book

2)      Pencil

3)      Notebook paper

4)      Math notebook

5)      Homework

All quizzes are worth 50 points

All tests are worth 100 points.

 

Grades will be entered as “Preparation”, “Daily”, “Quiz” or “Test” grades.  Late work or corrections may be made up until the test over that work is given.  It is the student’s responsibility to grade all make-up work before or after school.
