USD 342 McLouth Board of Education announces Superintendent selection
The USD 342 McLouth Board of Education announces the selection of Jerome Johnson as the next superintendent of the school district. Johnson’s first day in his new position will be July 1, 2022.
Mr. Johnson has been a familiar face in the McLouth school district for 22 years. Starting in the fall of 2000, he was the band director for 15 years and has served as the elementary principal for the past seven years.
Mr. Johnson was raised in rural Washington County, Kansas where he graduated from Washington High School. He enjoyed working on his grandfather’s farm and in his father’s parts store in addition to playing sports and participating in the band.
After high school, Mr. Johnson completed a Bachelor of Music Education from Emporia State University. While working at McLouth, he completed his Master of Arts in School Leadership from Benedictine College. He is excited to continue to serve the school community in this new position.
