2 doses of Varicella are required for students K-12 unless child has had the chickenpox disease and disease is documented by a physician signature. Without a physician signature, vaccine is required even if you believe your child has had chickenpox disease.

Control of Cases

· For each person hospitalized with a case, contact and airborne precautions shall be followed until vesicles become dry and crusted.

· Each person with a case shall remain in home isolation until vesicles become dry and crusted except when seeking medical care.

Control of Contacts

• Each susceptible contact not age appropriately vaccinated within 72 hours of first exposure to an infectious case shall be excluded from working in an adult care home, correctional facility, or health care facility and attending or working in a school, child care facility, or adult day care for 21 days from the last exposure to an infectious case.
